Intereum Named Star Tribune Top Workplace for Second Year

For the second year in a row, Intereum has been named one of the Star Tribune’s Top Workplaces 2015. This year the Star Tribune expanded the Top Workplaces list from 150 to 227 to highlight companies in the Twin Cities area that exemplified the meaning of being an excellent workplace.

Each year the Star Tribune’s Top Workplaces recognizes the best-performing and most progressive public companies in Minnesota. Produced by the same team that compiles the 24-year-old Star Tribune 100 report, Top Workplaces received responses from over 69,100 employees in Minnesota. Scores and rankings were determined solely by employee responses.

Summer Outing: Putt-Putt Fun!

We all had a great time playing mini golf at The Walker Art Center for this year’s employee outing!  The museum has an amazing mini golf exhibit in the sculpture gardens, complete with 18 holes that were designed by different artists.  Check out a video of the course here!  Following the fun on the turf, we had a wonderful dinner reception inside the Walker with a view of Minneapolis and decadent food from D’Amico and Sons (yum!).  We could not have asked for a more lovely evening!  Sure are lucky to be surrounded by such great people everyday. Thanks to everyone for all that you do!

Here are some action shots from the day:

DIRTT Provides a Clean, Polished Clinical Setting

Everyone can relate to the thought of believing something is too good to be true.  And sometimes, the best possible way to cast those doubts aside is to simply give it a try.

This is exactly what a clinic opening in 2011 sought out to test.  Interested in the highly reputable DIRTT Environmental Solutions, the clinic selected this product for their new location.  Given the obstacle of working within a former retail space, the DIRTT Wall Fronts, Divisional Walls, and Barn Doors allowed to elegantly display and acoustically protect the space, and of course, provide the option to reconfigure the environment any time down the road.

Since this project has been installed, more clinics are being designed with DIRTT.  The end result is not just a beautifully designed aesthetic, but it is one that is practical and easily reconfigured to meet the next need and purpose while maximizing space.  Not to mention the speed and cleanliness that DIRTT prefab construction can provide allows for quicker move-in, easier access to interior wall sections for technology or fixture hookups, and client customization.

Design has an impact on patients just as much as it does the staff that provide the care. In the end, this clinic found that what they thought was too good to be true could become their reality.

A DIRTT Solution

DIRTT Glass Markerboards

DIRTT Glass Markerboards

Working with one of our Healthcare clients on a demountable wall solution stretched DIRTT’s flexibility in a whole new way.  The space was chosen, the dimensions were measured and the product was ordered – all designed for a space to house Manager and Nurse workstations.  Once the product arrived, the client decided that they wanted to change the use of the space to be a Security Room and two offices in the receiving area.  We were able to make this happen by using what was ordered for the original install.  The moral of the story is that DIRTT is as flexible as they’ve been telling us!

DIRTT Solution - Security Room and Offices

DIRTT Solution - Security Room and Offices

Some of the highlights from the install:

  • Used standard DIRTT colors – no COM or color matches
  • Back painted glass markerboards
  • Used antlers to hang Herman Miller Action Office
  • Anodized aluminum trim, connections and door frames
  • Sliding barn doors
  • Clerestory (glass window at the top of the install)
  • The DIRTT ran from the floor to the ceiling

The customer is now using DIRTT in other facilities because it is customizable, flexible and just plain looks good.  We partnered with the construction company, and their Installers were certified and trained in DIRTT.  This means that they have met the number of installations required by DIRTT and have passed an evaluation by a DIRTT technician.
