The #PowerOffice Event

Herman Miller’s Small and Medium Business team in Minneapolis created the PowerOffice Events with the goal to make it easy for companies to participate in a networking group that not only connects people but offers inspiration and insights that encourage people to contribute their best within their work and life.PromoCard[5]_Page_1

PowerOffice 3 had John Nielson, Business Development Director, and Elissa Gjertson, Account Director of frank Change Communication Specialists in to speak on how to effectively manage and communicate change. Research has shown that companies that do this well are 3.5X more successful than their competitors. As change advisors and co-founders of areyoufrank.com, Elissa and John shared how to create common language to build forward action in business using the “frank50” card game. Attendees learned three simple steps to break through barriers and be able to accelerate change through ongoing frank conversations with team members.DSCF0249

To be successful at business, sometimes you have to find your perfect fit. That expression can go multiple ways but Mark Hank, OTR/L, CEA, Principal Ergonomist of Eucentra Consulting, LLC presented on finding the right fit for each person with office ergonomics.  Demonstrating how important it is to have the right desk height, monitor adjustments, and postural support to avoid muscular stress that can lead to discomfort and injury, Mark led the group through a series of three basic office ergonomic principles. When you have a good fit between you and your workstation, comfort and productivity will naturally follow. (Herman Miller is at the top of the class with their research and product designs and the Thrive Ergonomic Portfolio is a fantastic resource!)DSCF0243
