Employee Spotlight: Matt Rowley

Baseball season has officially started in MN and while it can feel like anything but spring here for these early games, us Minnesotans definitely value our outdoor sports. Before anyone takes a swing at the fastball from the pitcher’s mound at Target field, spring training gets underway at Hammond Stadium in Ft. Myers, Florida. We got the scoop on what it’s like down there from a firsthand perspective from our Healthcare Account Manager, Matt Rowley. He was invited down to pitch for his alma mater, Bethel University.DSCN0579

Matt has a long track record of baseball achievements. The days of T-Ball started it all for Matt and his experience took him to Bethel University, in which he played on the team for four years. He still makes time to play his favorite sport, that is, in-between the wedding planning and work schedule. Fortunately he still keeps his skills sharp because he was invited to pitch for the Bethel team this March as they scrimmaged against the Twins rookie team. It’s best to save player’s arms and therefore, Matt was called upon to help out for a game (out of the 10 – 12 that Bethel would end up playing).  The victory went to Bethel with an 8 – 4 win.

We should probably insert the “What are you gonna do next?” question since “I’m going to Disney World!” was on Matt’s list.  Along with his fiancé and family, Matt was able to turn it into a great spring break trip as they went to Disney World in Orlando, attended a friend’s wedding in Cocoa Beach, and had the opportunity to play some baseball with good weather and plenty of sunshine!DSCN0586
